Family Day at the Inota Power Plant
The INOTA Focus: RADIANCE event, supported by Erste and the National Cultural Fund, will have the sound system silenced on Sunday, but the powerhouse turned industrial exhibition space and its stunning light installations will remain for the evening. From the afternoon, children will be invited to join in with activities for them, including exciting tech, sound and light workshops, outdoor games and skill activities.
We will also host the HOME-project, where everyone can tell their own story of what home means to them, while these stories will be transformed into music for us all to listen to.
From 19:00, we invite you to a special dinner at the Kantin, for Veronika Szabó and Csaba Molnár's "Dinner by Candlelight", a performance of cabaret and ever-changing theatre events.

CANDLELIGHT DINNER
This theatrical performance is close to the world of cabaret and evergreen theatre events, where the audience, seated around a table, becomes part of a surreal, absurd event. Various grotesque characters serve the guests while questioning social norms and behaviours.

The light installations can be viewed in the area from 4 pm to 11 pm on this day.
INOTA POWER PLANT
The Inota thermal power plant was the largest industrial investment in Hungary in the 1950s, and at its peak, it could have provided street lighting and tram traffic for the whole of Budapest. Its three huge, illustrious cooling towers are not only familiar to anyone who drives to Lake Balaton from the capital, but it is also worth knowing that their novel water-cooled technology was a revolutionary innovation at the time, winning engineers László Heller and László Forgó the Grand Prix at the 1958 Brussels World Exhibition. It was thanks to Inota that these horn-shaped cooling towers soon became widespread throughout the world.
