Schedule

We will conquer the mountain with several breaks – there is an ascent at the beginning, but we will not go up to the top (the Citadel).

Meanwhile, we can find answers to the following questions:

– What is the Buda Green?

– What is engraved on the stones of the Forrásház?

– Where does the name Kelenhegyi út come from?

– When did they start building the Citadel?

– When did they start building the Citadel?

– Who were the models for the figures in the Liberty Statue?

– How did Vasily come to be?

– Where is the replica of the Liberty Statue?

– Why was Pharaoh Akhenaten so special?

– Why are there two huge pianos on top of the hill?

At the beginning of the walk, we will climb about 150 meters, taking breaks at several points along the way. Then we will continue along the side of the mountain without any major ascents or descents. We will walk on paved paths almost the entire way, but it is worth watching your step. Sports shoes and light weekend wear are recommended.

It is also worth bringing a camera and binoculars! :🧡📷

Everyone is welcome!

Location

Gellért Hill

The steep cliffs overlooking the Danube and the panoramic view of Pest from the top is unrivalled. It is also known as the jewel of Budapest. Together with the Citadel fortress at the top of Gellért Hill, the Buda Castle Hill and the panorama of the two banks of the Danube, Gellért Hill was declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO in 1987.
